I am Olivia Delores Xavier. A first -year student at Singapore Polytechnic, I am currently pursuing a Diploma in Infocomm Security Management. This course enables me to hone my skills in Information Technology. Having recently graduated from the Institute of Technical Education, I was awarded the Certificate of Merit upon the completion of my Higher NITEC in Information Technology.
My passion for IT stemmed from my desire to gain knowledge and aspiration to be a grey-hat.
Seeing the world has been a dream of mine ever since I visited London at the age of 7. My family vacations instilled in me a profound wanderlust that has never waned. The world is a vast place and there are so many experiences for the taking - sights, sounds, and smells. Experiences are the currency of life and I aspire to be rich in life!
Photography has always been a passion of mine. To me, photography is akin to Art. It allows me to express myself via the contrast within a photograph. Framing the subject matter also allows me to hone my skills in design - an important aspect when it comes to web design.
Sports has always kept me active and allowed me to bond with my family and friends. These days I try to incorporate it into my daily life as a form of stress relief. Exercise has always been an integral part of my life and I hope to continue incorporating it into my lifestyle during my time in SP.
One of my strengths includes leadership. Currently an alumni of my secondary school's Team LTC, I often engage in running Leadership Training Camps. These camps are based on the teachings from the book by Stephen Covey: The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.
One of my skills include being emphathetic and thus my personable nature allows me to be people oriented.
In an individualistic society, I feel that my tight-knit family is truly a blessing. They have always supported me through my arduous rollercoaster-like education path. Their constant support and motivation have been a source of motivation and encouragement. This has kept me focused, driven and steadfast in my pursuit of attaining my Diploma.
